Program Focus
The focus of this program is to provide entry-level skills in both inbound and outbound calling techniques. The program includes written electronic communication to accommodate the industries movement in this direction.
 

The program provides an opportunity for labour market research and training in resume preparation, cover letter writing, job search strategies, and interview skills.
This program was developed with input from local industry that expressed a need for customer service and interpersonal skills, along with keyboarding and computer expertise. The program consists of 25% theory and 75% skill training and hands on practice in an actual call/contact center environment.

Theory Courses of Study Include:

  • Customer Service on the Telephone
  • Employability Skills
  • Interpersonal Communication
Technical Courses of Study Include:
  • Keyboarding
  • Introduction to Windows
  • Introduction to Microsoft Outlook

Program Details

  • 100 Hours Theory
  • 20 Hours Call Center Experience
  • Total Hours – 120

Career Potential

Graduates will be prepared for employment in the call center, contact center, customer service, and answering service industries.

Admission Requirements

  • 17 years of age and older

  • Skills and/or Academic Testing may be required

  • Admission Interview and/or portfolio assessment to determine eligibility for Prior Learning.

  • Letter of reference may be requested if an admission interview is requested
